We empower businesses to earn community trust through Social Performance
About Parley Relations
Despite well-intended CSR projects, environmental compliance, Public Relations campaigns, and ESG initiatives, increased community protests are making companies rethink their approach to community engagement and identify the missing piece to community trust.
We believe that this missing piece is lack of a Social Performance (SP) approach, which allows businesses to systematically identify and address localized community risks proactively. Just like any other business risks!
Parley Relations is a collaboration of corporate-community relations experts specializing in practical application of Social Performance – on ground, at site, and in consultation with local stakeholders.
Our team members, with extensive experience in the mining and agri-businesses from over 40 countries and over 200 sites, have empowered businesses to take a systematic approach to building trust with communities using SP approaches, globally, including in India.

“Local goodwill cannot be bought; it must be earned through dialogue”
Companies need to systematically and strategically engage with communities and build local trust. Social Risks based approach when practically applied to business context is proven to safeguard company from community and local stakeholder risks.

“Poor company-community relations are not due to lack of intent for good relations"
Stakeholder relationship management is still ad-hoc and overlooks the desire for communities to be involved in project design. Despite best interest for all, most companies struggle to build and sustain honest relationships with communities.

“The root of every company-community conflict is a desire to be engaged, respected and be treated fairly by the company”
A company that does not engage proactively with communities to discuss potential negative impacts, does not have community trust and support. Communities expect company to develop a responsible and predictable relationship.
